Site Accessibility

Whilst we have endeavoured to ensure the accessibility of our site, there are some known limitations.

Both Proact and MIME websites are partially compliant with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines version 2.1 AA standard, due to ‘the non-compliances’ listed below.

  • Some tables in content do not have table row headers when needed. This means assistive technologies will not read the tables correctly. WCAG 2.1 1.3.1 (Info and Relationships).
  • Some link text is duplicated with a page (WCAG 2.1 2.4.4: Link Purpose (In Context)
  • Images on some pages do not always have suitable image descriptions. WCAG 2.1 1.1.1 (Non-text Content).
  • Colour contrast issues on some pages. 1.4.3: Contrast (Minimum)
  • Pages display completely at 125%, but no larger without right-hand side overspill. WCAG 2.1 1.4.4: Resize Text
  • Carousels WCAG 2.1 2.4.7 Focus Visible
  • PDFs and other downloadable documents may not always be accessible.

What we’re doing to improve accessibility

  • We strive to make sure our use of navigation, images, graphs, slideshows, documents and tables meets accessibility standards.
  • Avoid using elements such as carousels and slideshows.
  • We will work to address issues raised in accessibility audits.
  • We aim to introduce automated checks into the development process.
  • We listen to user feedback.
