About this certificate

Yellow Fever Vaccine Exemption Certificate
If you are unable to receive the yellow fever vaccine due to a medical contraindication, you may require a Yellow Fever Vaccine Exemption Certificate for travel. Many countries require travellers to provide either proof of vaccination or a valid medical exemption certificate before entry.
Our doctors will assess your medical history to determine whether a yellow fever vaccine exemption is clinically appropriate. Where a valid contraindication exists, we can issue an official Yellow Fever Vaccine Exemption Certificate, usually within 1–2 hours of completing your online assessment.
Alongside your certificate, we provide practical travel health advice on reducing your risk of yellow fever, including mosquito bite prevention measures and other protective precautions while travelling.
Complete our online assessment, have your information reviewed by a doctor, and receive your certificate and travel health advice quickly and securely.

What is Yellow Fever?
Yellow Fever is a serious viral infection spread through the bite of infected mosquitoes in parts of Africa and South America. While many people experience flu-like symptoms such as fever, headache, muscle aches, and fatigue, the infection can progress to a severe form that causes jaundice (yellowing of the skin and eyes), bleeding, liver and kidney failure, and death. There is no specific antiviral treatment for yellow fever, making prevention through vaccination the most effective protection.
What are the risks of not having the yellow fever vaccine?
Travellers who are not vaccinated and are exposed to infected mosquitoes are at risk of contracting yellow fever, a disease that can rapidly become life-threatening. Approximately 15% of infected individuals develop severe disease, and among those with severe illness, mortality rates can be as high as 30–60%. In addition to the health risks, many countries require proof of yellow fever vaccination for entry, and unvaccinated travellers may be refused entry, quarantined, or required to provide a valid medical exemption certificate. A single dose of the vaccine provides highly effective, long-lasting protection and remains the best defence against this potentially fatal infection.
As part of providing a yellow fever exemption certificate - our Doctors will undertake a risk assessment to ensure that an exemption is the correct clinical decision.
