What laboratories do ZoomDoc use?
All laboratories that ZoomDoc use are UKAS & ISO 15189 accredited.
Most samples are analysed at The Doctors Laboratory which is based in Central London. This lab is the largest private laboratory in the UK.
How are my sexual health test results reviewed?
All sexual health results are analysed by our team of Doctors.
They will comment on your results and often provide both advice and health recommendations.
If there are any worrying results our Doctors will get in touch and advise on next steps.
Can I discuss my results with a ZoomDoc GP?
Our team of GPs are always on hand via the ZoomDoc app to discuss any queries or questions you may have with your results or sexual health tests.
What will happen after I purchase a ZoomDoc test kit?
After purchase of our sexual health test kits, we immediately dispatch it to your home or workplace.
After it arrives, you must activate the test with the details of the patient undertaking the test. There are full instructions on the test kit box.
Can I give this test kit to someone else?
Yes, if you receive or order a sexual health test kit and want to provide it to someone else, you can do this. However, the test must always be activated with the personal details of the individual taking the test.

There are a number of ways to get tested for HIV in the UK:

You can get tested for HIV for free on the NHS, although you may have to book an appointment with a GP, or at your local sexual health clinic.

What happens when you test positive for HIV in the UK?
If your ZoomDoc blood test comes back positive, one of our GPs will be in touch to discuss the next steps with you.
If you test positive for HIV, you will be required to take a further blood test to confirm your results.
From that point, you will be referred to a specialist HIV clinic, where you will discuss treatment options and take further tests.
How does an HIV Test work?
HIV blood tests look for proteins found in HIV cells, or for antibodies made to fight HIV.
How often should you test for HIV?
If you are at high risk for HIV, you should get tested at least once a year.
General advice is that sexually active bisexual or gay men should be tested every 3 to 6 months.
If you are sexually active, it is good practice to be tested for HIV and other STIs at least once a year.
