Pregnancy Fit to Fly Certificate

Flying When Pregnant

As long as you have no underlying health or pregnancy problems, most airlines will allow pregnant women to travel if they are:

  • Less than 36 weeks Gestation [Singleton Pregnancy]
  • Less than 32 weeks Gestation [Multiple Pregnancy]
How does it work?

We know it is not always that simple to get a Doctors Letter or proof to confirm that you are fit to fly

Following purchase of a Pregnant Fit to Fly Letter – you will be guided to upload your pregnancy and medical information including a copy of your recent antenatal notes. This is all undertaken via a simple questionnaire. It is confidential and secure.

Your evidence is reviewed by our Doctors who will then issue you with your Fit to Fly Letter. If our Doctors have any further questions then they may give you a quick call – it is that simple.

All of our Doctor Letters are Digital PDF Letters, on company headed paper, with the Doctors full name and GMC registration number.

QR codes are also present on your Letter to enable a validity check by your airline or cruise ship.

*Please note that ZoomDoc are unable to complete any additional airline or cruise specific forms separate to this fit to fly letter.

Risk Factors

Flying whilst pregnant with any known health problems or complications could put both yourself and your pregnancy at risk. Certain conditions will increase your risks and if you have previously been advised not to fly for any reason or that you have any risk factors, our Doctors will not be able to provide a letter.

*If your BMI is raised and above 30 at the start of your pregnancy, our team will unfortunately not be able to provide you with a fitness to fly letter. This is due to your increased risk of developing a deep vein thrombosis [blood clots] whilst flying.

** If you have a more complicated pregnancy with underlying health conditions or risk factors – our Doctors will not be able to provide you with a letter as it will be safer for you to be assessed in person.

*** Risk factors that would deem your pregnancy to be more complicated and high risk and would preclude our doctors from being able to provide a pregnancy fit to fly letter include any current or previous history of a: Blood Clot or DVT, High Blood Pressure, Miscarriage after 18 weeks gestation, Heart Condition, Severe Anaemia, Sickle Cell Disease, Epilepsy, Lung Condition, Pre-Eclampsia or a Low Lying Placenta.
